However, this loco, which has never (yet) featured as a model in the Märklin range, only made its first appearance on Märklin’s catalog cover illustration in 1939 (see item 45909). Who knows? Perhaps this Austrian steam locomotive star will one day be honored with a Märklin model...
The painting depicts the class 214 loco at the head of a top-class express train as it accelerates away from the large city train station, while a type “Cologne” three-unit express powered rail car on the adjacent track tries to overtake it, something it will probably do with ease due to its substantially lower train load.
On the far left, we can see a class 62 steam loco, which is operating as an “Lz” (which means “Lokzug” or a loco running light), recognizable by the red marker light, traveling towards the vast station hall and will shortly pass beneath the gantry signal tower. What type of train will it haul next? Or is it returning to the nearby railroad depot for a well-earned rest?
We leave it to you to imagine how the story continues...

The car has inset roof vents and separately applied steps on the ends.
Length over the buffers 13.4 cm / 5-1/4".
DC wheel set E32376004.
Trix Express wheel set E36660700.

Find more Märklin explanation videos on our YouTube Channel

Spare parts for our articles can be found here in our spare parts search.

Prototype: A privately owned type Ibopqs refrigerator car displaying the cover of the Märklin catalog of 1939.

Specifications:

Length over the buffers approximately 1.34 cm

Scale: H0 (1:87)

Type: Freight Cars

Warning

ATTENTION: not suitable for children under 15 years.

This product contains small parts that may be a choking hazard.
