Trix is one of the most historic names in the European model-railway world. Originally founded in Germany, the company introduced its first electric trains in 1935 under the iconic Trix Express line, quickly earning a reputation for engineering quality and durable metal construction.

Its Minitrix brand, launched for N-scale (1:160), became a favorite among hobbyists seeking compact layouts without sacrificing realism or detail. A major milestone came in January 1997, when Märklin acquired Trix, bringing the brand into the Märklin family while maintaining its own identity. Under Märklin’s ownership, Trix continues to specialize in two-rail DC systems in H0 scale, while Minitrix remains one of the leading N-scale brands worldwide.
