Märklin 42958 “FlixTrain” Express Train Car Set 2
Model: Multi-colored interior details. Both cars have factory-installed LED interior lighting and buffer capacitors to bridge short unpowered sections of track. The interior lighting works using the factory-installed, current-conducting close couplings. The pickup shoe on car number 6 supplies the complete car consist, comprising items 42957 and 42958, with current. For this purpose, the specified car sequence must be observed. A normal close coupler head is inserted at car number 2 facing the locomotive and on car number 6 at the end of the train. The ends of the car have transparent red marker light inserts. The car with the pickup shoe also has factory-installed marker lights. Both cars have separately applied Wi-Fi antennas and fans on the roof. The buffer height conforms to NEM specifications. The cars are fitted with type MD 367 trucks. The car numbers are printed. Both cars are individually packaged in a master package. The minimum radius for operation is 360 mm / 14-3/16". Total length over the buffers approximately 56.5 cm / 22-1⁄4".
An additional express train passenger car set (item 42957) and the matching class 182 electric locomotive (item 39872) will also be offered as part of the dealer initiative.

Prototype: Two express train passenger cars of different types owned by Talbot-Services GmbH, leased to FlixTrain, registered in Germany. One type Bmmz 264.1F passenger car bearing car number 2; one type Bmmz 264.5F passenger car bearing car number 6. Green basic paint scheme with black-gray window bands. Both cars have Wi-Fi antennas on the roof. The cars look as they did around 2025.
